2024 Renovations Underway!!

Kestle Interior’s first renovation of 2024 is underway! Before actual demolition begins on any renovation, preparing the jobsite to protect the homeowner’s house and furnishings is essential.

Our contracting team is diligent in properly preparing the site to eliminate property damage during the renovation process. In order to shield the homeowner’s flooring from dust, foot traffic and damage, we apply a heavy-duty temporary surface throughout the renovation site. Drop sheets offer a barrier from spillage but would not provide protection if a tool inadvertently was placed or fell onto a wood floor or tiled surface.

Fine dust and debris are unavoidable anytime that walls are coming down, cabinets are being removed and/or replaced, or tiles are being uplifted.

To try to combat this, we take the time to seal off and cover all areas with plastic sheeting and cover any floor heating vents or cold-air returns that exist in the workspace. No one can undergo a renovation without dust production, but we take every precaution possible to keep this to a minimum.

In this instance, our homeowner had requested removal of her existing popcorn ceiling. This involves scraping the ceiling to remove the popcorn surface, skim coating over the surface with drywall compound to provide a clean, smooth surface, followed by painting to finish the ceiling surface. Our team has sealed off rooms with zipped plastic to keep the fine dust particles as confined as possible. We have applied Ram Board to flooring and covered any furniture remaining in the job area with plastic.

The ceiling refinishing is now in the works, and we are certain our homeowner will love her new look!!
