Killian Road, Maple, Fireplace Renovation

As part of their main-floor renovation, the homeowners wanted to close off their existing wood-burning fireplace in the dining room and add a new electric fireplace in the family room. A new wall was built to accommodate the depth of the fire insert and the wiring for a wall-mounted TV. The entire face of the fireplace unit was tiled in Brazilian Slate, Pencil Gray, 24×48 porcelain tiles. Built-in units flank the fireplace to complete the feature wall. Floating shelves feature integrated base lighting, and matching LED pot lights highlight the shelving from the ceiling overhead. The shelves and cabinetry match the kitchen design, featuring Corinaldo 1-piece MDF doors in Edgecomb Gray with maple melamine interiors.

The combination of the rich tiles with a natural stone texture and the soft neutrals beautifully anchors the family room, creating a seamless, open flow that ties the entire main floor together.
