Cooking produces grease, moisture, heat, and smoke that can damage your cabinets and walls over time, so proper ventilation is essential. Downdraft ventilation, like the system shown in this video, features a telescopic vent that rises from the countertop and pulls vapours downward and away from the cooktop. It is an ideal solution when an overhead hood is not desired, especially for kitchen islands. When not in use, the vent retracts beneath the countertop to stay hidden, and when needed it extends upward to capture steam and smoke, with convenient controls typically located beside the cooktop.

Templating creates an exact digital pattern of your countertop so the fabricator can cut it precisely. In the past, this was done manually using vinyl or cardboard templates, which were then transferred to the stone slab.
With modern laser templating, precise measurement points are captured and instantly converted into a digital file that feeds directly into a CNC cutting machine. This allows granite, quartz, and porcelain countertops to be cut with exceptional precision and consistency.
